Hi - I'm Lisa-Marie! In 2015 I sold my digital nomad eCommerce business and "retired" at 45.
Here's my story...
In 2006 I left behind my corporate life as a business analyst and software developer to follow my dream of starting my own location independent business. I founded Doll Companies Inc., an ecommerce based toy manufacturing company, with $500 and a book on building a Yahoo Store. Doll Companies supported my family and a worldwide team of contractors and employees while Mark, Emily (our daughter) and I adventured around the world and I worked from my laptop and a bandwidth connection. During that time we lived in The Bahamas, Tuscany, Sicily, Scotland, Florida while frequently traveling to new destinations for shorter adventures.
In 2012 women started approaching me for help in finding a way to live their own Ultimate Life. I recognized an unmet need and founded Laptop Life Lisa - a consulting, speaking and coaching company focused on helping entrepreneurial women realize their dreams. My first client went from making under $50k a year as an art teacher to making over $17k a month in her own graphic design business. Realizing quickly that business coaching and life design were inextricably joined, I also invested in becoming officially certified as a Life Coach to add more value to my clients.
In 2015 I decided it was time for a new adventure and sold Doll Companies, Inc. I'm now on a journey to live my real (secret until now) dream to become an author and I spend my time writing breezy, contemporary romance and chick-lit novels, creating and running a self-publishing business, continuing my travel adventures with my husband and pining for my daughter who has now fled the nest.
Yes we are digital nomads but I don't think we are typical. By community standards we are old (ancient even). We don't own backpacks and never met a hostel we didn't hate. We don't make money by teaching other people how to make money off of teaching people how to make money. We have decades of entrepreneurial and business experience between us which we love to share with people who want to have choices in life.
I think my life is extraordinary – but I am ordinary, just a regular everyday wife and mother.
Trust me… If I can do it, you can too.
